HRH Princess Máxima and HRH Prince Willem Alexander open Connecting Concepts, the exhibition about Dutch design, fashion and architecture, at the Museo de Arte Brasiliera FAAP on Wednesday, November 21. Connecting Concepts is open for visitors until the 20th of January, 2013.

Brasilian artists at Glow lightfestival

From November, 10th to 17th 2012, the city center of Eindhoven turns again into a Forum of Light and Architecture, presenting interventions, installations, performances and events based on the phenomena of artificial light within the context of the Glow Festival. Brazilian artists Leonardo Crescenti, Rejani Cantoni and Raquel Kogan are showing work at this unique light festival: closing on the 17th of November!

CALL FOR PROPOSALS TO FOSTER THE BRAZILIAN CULTURE IN THE NETHERLANDS
 
The Embassy of the Federative Republic of Brazil to the Kingdom of the Netherlands announces that, until 19 October 2012, it will be accepting applications for financial support of the Ministry of External Relations to initiatives aimed at fostering the Brazilian culture in the Netherlands, in 2013, particularly in the fields of music, visual arts, performing arts and literature.

Rietveld Academie temporary design school in RJ

The Escola Aberta will be a temporary design school based in Rio de Janeiro. Teachers and students of graphic design from the Gerrit Rietveld Academie (Amsterdam) will conduct a week of workshops, lectures and activities, aiming to ignite a discussion on ways of teaching and learning and to establish an exchange of ideas with Brazil.

Brazilian Design: Modern & Contemporary Furniture highlights many new talents, the work of Domingos Tótora, for his sensitivity and expertise in creating high-quality handicrafts made with recycled cardboard; Carlos Motta, with his ability to alternate between the use of light and heavy woods; Rodrigo Almeida, for his constructive coherence in the accumulation of unusual materials and Zanini de Zanine for his eclectic creation and mastery of various techniques.

Design without ego at What Design Can Do

Taking place on 10 and 11 May in Amsterdam, What Design Can Do is an international gathering that highlights the social impact of design.

At What Design Can Do, the most famous design collective in the Netherlands, Droog Design, will present Future Furniture, an appeal to designers to reuse scarce materials.

To illustrate a different role for design, What Design Can Do has invited Brazilian architect and stylist Marcelo Rosenbaum to Amsterdam.
